Open Frame Collage – Family Inspired

I finally put up my open frame collage…it had been laying on my floor for a few weeks while I fiddled with the final touches.  This project was inspired by the number 7, which signifies my husband, myself and our five children.
I painted a few of the frames teal by taking a scrap of the fabric into Home Depot and having them make a sample size of their paint by color matching.  I love their little samples of paint, they come complete with primer.
I found the “7 so lucky” sign on clearance at Target for $3.  That find was “so lucky”.  The mirror was also at target for under $20.  The rest of the frames were in my garage with family pictures that had been outdated which I had used in my old house.
If you are new reader you know that I challenge myself to update and make new my home decor with a very limited budget.  For me it is more fun than running down with a ton of money…it poses a challenge and I like a good challenge.  Especially when I win with a fabulous look.  This collage cost me less than $30.

Here’s my collage on the wall before I made the final hanging.  I love this trick, makes for near perfect hanging every time!
I chose to do an open framed collage on my stenciled wall because the wall is so busy and I didn’t want to fully cover up or take away from the beautiful design.
It’s rather huge and when you come into my family room it makes quite the statement.  It’s so yummy I could eat it up…I love a good dose of eye candy!!!
